Wuwow Review

Wuwow <—- (Click here to Apply) is based in Taiwan and is owned by Lioshutan.  They hire native English speakers (or teachers with a TOEIC score of 860+ or equivalent) with a university degree and at least 1 year of teaching experience. A TEFL / CELTA certificate is not required. Each class is 25 minutes long. I am not a fan of their cancelation policy which allows students to cancel their class up to 15 minutes before without compensating teachers. I am not sure yet how much they pay either. Please leave a comment or a review of Wuwow.

  • I have been teaching here for two months and I absolutely love it!!!! The students are great, friendly, polite, and keen to learn. The teaching platform is interactive and easy to use. The staff support is awesome, they respond efficiently and are always prepared to assist. I have been a teacher for many years and I can honestly say this is one of the best places I have taught at. The content is relatable and students gain well from them as they can be applied to their daily life. Yes, they have a 15-minute cancellation policy but in my experience the student cancellation rate is low. Regarding the rules and 10 class pay deduction, their expectations are not extreme and generally easy to follow, I am sure that they are put in place to ensure the company's reliability, in terms of their students with regards to teachers not pitching up when they feel like.

  • Pay is 4.5USD per 25minute class. Materials are prepared for you and you have to fill out a student evaluation within 24 hours. The 15 minute cancellation policy sucks but otherwise not bad on the whole.

      • I started the interview process for them and there were major red flags. I think the pay is only 4 bucks per hour. They have so many rules and stipulations you are bound to get penalized and not even realize it. And if you do, the penalty is pay for 10 classes. Which means you will never recover. Your basically working for free. And the entire interview process is very confusing. Hard pass!
