USKid teaches Chinese children 1 to 1. They want native English speaking teachers with a university degree and experience to commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week (ESL certificate is not necessary). They Pay between $17 and $28 USD per hour with incentives.

      Please, please, please do not listen to Heather! iTutor Group offered me $22.00 per hour. It was a scam. They paid me $2.00 per hour! I taught a 30 minute class. They paid me the dollar. lol

    I applied to this company at the beginning of the summer, because I read some good reviews. They voice that they want to do business fairly. Last month they changed over to only group classes. The one on one lessons were few. Eventually those classes stopped completely. That’s understandable. If it can’t work out, just let me know so we can part then and there. I would just move on. They invited me for a second mock class. I’ve been teaching English for over a year with groups. I also teach over 60 students in a classroom. I was provided a training video that was all over the place. There was a real disconnect. There was nothing to be learned. Secondly, if you are going to interview again after hired, be upfront with the person rather than obtain a review from the employee to send into the support team about the interviewer. That is unprofessional. Actually it’s quite funny. It was just a waste of my time. Time is precious. This is a second job, because I love to teach. Luckily I found a great & well established company teaching all kinds of students from 5 years old to 80 years old. In order to have a successful company, you have to treat people with some respect.

    I joined uskid as a second source of income since dada wasn’t enough for me. I also joined vipkid. USkid has given me 1-3 classes max monthly and that was after getting nothing for the first month and a half that is. The pay is good for the classes but is that one class a month worth the hassle? Vipkid has only been slightly better. But also nowhere near enough to sustain any life on it’s own.

    I’ve been teaching for USKid for almost a year, before that I was with VIPKid. I don’t get as many classes with USKid (in fact I had to wait about 2-3 weeks to get my first class), but I still prefer teaching with them over VIPKid. It’s a lot smaller company so the teacher support is a lot more personal. This may change as they grow, but my experience dealing with USKid staff so far has been really positive and they seem to really make an effort to be understanding and don’t start penalizing your pay for silly infractions like a lot of other companies do.

    One thing it doesn’t say in the description above is that USKid is doing group classes now too. I wasn’t super keen to teach groups at first, but I agreed mainly because you get paid more for group classes (I get $16.50 for teaching a 30-minute class, which works out to be $33/hr which is pretty good). I quite like doing them now and the extra pay makes up for the fact I’m booking fewer classes overall.

    I would recommend USKid for anyone who looking for a good company, that’s reasonably well organized and pays well, but someone who isn’t relying on online teaching as their sole source of income.
