They were taken over by Berlitz some years ago. E-Berlitz might pay more, according to this website. But I have seen ads offering less than 10 USD. I worked for them for 7 years. I recently contacted them again to work for them, but it has taken 6 months to have a reply, and I have to wait until September for a definite answer. I think when I first applied to them, it took over 6 months for a response.

I went to look at their website for information about applying to teach English but everything is in French. Do they want ESL teachers who don’t speak French?

I worked for Telelangue for 5 years. Stopped 2015. The pay is 10 USD. It’s mostly business students. The system is good, and I enjoyed the work. I used to get a little extra for speaking other languages and intro lessons. However, you can never get a payrise. Unfair, seeing that they are charging top dollar for one to one lessons. But if your costs are low where you are living, it might be worth your while. The headquarters are located in Paris, so you have the ability to contact them with any issues quite easily. They were taken over by a bigger company, which means they monitor your lessons more, and I think they wanted more va-va-voom in lessons, more manipulation of the materials, but seeing that the pay is so low, I think it’s a joke. If you pay more, teachers can take the time to review the materials beforehand and introduce other things.
