RareJob

RareJob Review

Rarejob is based in the Philippines and they are looking mostly for Filipino teachers to teach English to Japanese students. It looks like they have a good reputation according to what I have heard from the Filipino teachers. They offer a flexible schedule as well. The pay is around $3-5 per hour.

Please leave us a comment or review of RareJob.

I did get the response Philipino only. I got the response : “Thank you for expressing your interest to become a RareJob tutor. We are grateful for your honesty in informing us of your engagement with another tutorial service.

Upon reviewing the information you have provided us regarding your employment, we have perceived that hiring you for the tutor post may give rise to potential conflicts. In compliance with the RareJob policies, we apologize, but your application is hereby withheld.

In the event that you decide to pursue the RareJob tutor post, you will have to first submit a proof that your employment and/or engagement with them has indeed been terminated before we resume the processing of your application.

We will only be recognizing proofs of employment termination that bear the signature and contact information of the last employer. You can satisfy this requirement by having the document scanned and uploaded to the website.

We hope you understand that this decision has been reached with you and your current company’s/employer’s best interests in mind.

    Thank you for your time”

who leaves a job before they get another and who gets written proof of contract termination? This is a really weird company. Beware

It’s Japanese culture. They inform their current employer that they intend to work for another company. They also have a non-competition clause in their contract which states that you cannot work as an online ESL teacher with other companies. They hire people residing in the Philippines not necessarily Filipino citizens, they said it is because of the pay of the tutors which is deposited to only two banks in the Philippines (BPI and another). My Australian friend who lives in the Philippines works for Rarejob as an Online English tutor – homebased.

I tried it and I had problems registrating my mobile number. I wrote a mail to them and they answered, that only Phillipino teachers can apply.
