Mainichi Eikaiwa
Mainichi Eikaiwa Review
Mainichi Eikaiwa offers business and conversational classes to Japanese students. They want native English speakers, including South Africans! Applicants should have a university degree and 6 months of teaching experience. An ESL teaching certificate is not required but would be an asset. Teachers have to be available to work 5 days a week and at least 3 hours consecutively between 18:00 and 24:00 Japanese time. They pay $13.50 USD per 50 minute class.

Their pay is to low for providing lessons. I was also interviewed. The hours are horrible and these people are clueless.

I was shortlisted for a job interview with Mainichi Eikaiwa and the interviewer never showed up. What if I did not show up for a class with one of their clients. Waste of time, choose wisely guys, you are part of the selection process too!

After a month: I signed the contract and never heard from them again. I did ask after a few days of waiting what is going on, and I was told to sit tight. I never heard from them again.

I was hired a few hours ago by Mainichi Eikaiwa. I was interviewed by a very pleasant, but highly professional man for an hour. He asked me a lot of questions and told me a lot about the school. They want native English teachers from America, Canada, Britain and South Africa. You need a degree, TEFL, and online experience teaching Business English, but also know how to give conversational classes. It seems like a great opportunity to be creative. I will let you know what it is like after a few months. Wish me luck . . .

So Estee, a good few months have passed, are you still with Mainichi Eikaiwa? If yes, how is it going?
