LingoAce Review
LingoAce <—- (Click here to Apply) is based in Singapore so they are not affected by the new Chinese regulations. Teachers must be native speakers from the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia or New Zealand (sorry South Africa) but they can be living in other countries. They also must have a TEFL certificate, bachelor’s degree and 2 years of teaching experience. Their classes are 25 or 55 minutes long with students aged 5 to 15 (from more than 100 different countries). LingoAce provides the material and platform and teachers stick with the same student for 3 to 5 months. They pay $7 USD per 25 minute class with a $3 bonus if (that’s a big if) the student does their homework and you correct it.

I would avoid teaching for this company. There are technical problems from their side, but the teacher is blamed. The parents are overwhelming and watch every class, so that the student feels so much pressure that they have a hard time communicating in English. It is not teacher friendly, and they do not support teachers. The parents are abusive toward teachers to save face from their own shortcomings. This online platform does not have a good atmosphere for the learning environment. LingoAce needs to wise up and support their teachers as they pay is low and no good teacher will stay teaching with them and deal with them for too long.

This place is HORRIBLE. Terrible communication between teachers and staff. They expect you to complete a lot of additional assignment, feedback, checking homework, etc with very little pay. I had 6 trial students sign up for my classes in one month. I was supposed to be paid a bonus for this, and they only gave me a bonus for one student. The website for the platform doesnt translate well and there are lots of technical problems. Good luck getting anyone to help you. You are on your own if the student has problems while you are teaching.
