KK Talkee

KK Talkee Review

KK Talkee (website is down) is another Chinese company that teaches Chinese children. They give 1 to 1 lessons and the classes are either 25 minutes or 50 minutes long. Students try out teachers during a demo class and then they can decide whether or not to book regularly with them. They want teachers who are available between 6-9pm Beijing time. I have read that non-native speakers are welcome to apply if they have a native level. A university degree, ESL certificate and teaching experience are not necessary but beneficial. The base pay is $16-$20 USD per hour, but they offer bonuses for attendance and performance.

Please leave us your comments and review of KK Talkee.

  • For those of you who got stuck at the "Classes Can Be Taught Every Week" field (like I did, lol), you're literally required to tally the total amount of classes you'll be able to do per week. This means, since each lesson is 25 minutes long, if you're able to do 6 lessons a day that equates to 30 lessons per week on a Mon - Fri schedule. Insert that number in the "Classes Can Be Taught Every Week" field and you're good to go.

  • I sent them an application but the response on their website was "please do not repeat delivery". I have no idea what's going on but it doesn't seem like I'll be getting a job here :(

  • Helen, it's actually not fake teaching. All the teachers you see there are professional teachers. You've obviously don't have great experience teaching super beginners. People like you are all big mouth about other teacher methods until of course you find yourself in the hot seat knowing other teachers can view your lessons. Then you'll realize teaching is a lot harder than it seems. Its not easy for a lot of people but they try. So before you openly judge an entire panel of teachers ask yourself this first. 1. Did you have a successful demo with KK Talkee? 2. Do you even have a job?

  • Hi! I am really intrigued to find out where it was written that non-native speakers are welcome to apply if they have a native level. I don't see any information about the requirements at all on their website.

  • Good morning. I am attempting to complete the application form, however, when I enter the detail of 'classes can be taught every week', it gives an error message in red? Kindly advise what I must enter in the 'classes can be taught every week' block? Regards, Vernon

  • A minimum number of booked hours is not guaranteed by the company. Actual teaching hours vary widely, in particular for newer hires.

  • For anyone that is asking about what to put in minimum classes per week, they do say there that each class is 25 minutes so you can do the math and figure out how many classes you can give per week. For example working at peak hours means you will teach 6 classes every day.

  • Hello. I have a blurb to add.
I've been at the apply website (http://t.kktalkee.com/info.html) and am having a hard time getting the site to accept my application. The page says: "Please fill in the class hour". Does that mean what hours I'd like to teach? If it does it will not accept the hours I'd like to teach. I've tried inputting SOMETHING that the page would accept to no avail. The phone number bit was also difficult; here's a tip: if you're applying don't use any hyphens! It won't accept them. Also, forget about adding the 1 in front of the number.
Final Straw: there's no place that gives you contact info. Can't send an email. And the Facebook page is NOT convincing. I'm not sure about working for a company that I can't contact. I had the misfortune of working for one of those.

  • I submitted application for Tutor From Home to KKTalkee but not sure if the submission was received by KKTalkee. Please contact me if you did not receive my submission.

    • This website is not affiliated with KK Talkee. You must contact them directly. The chances are that because of the holidays and the fact it is the end of the year they are not hiring at the moment. I recommend that you try again in January.
