I recently applied and Ruby asked me what my salary expectation is. I told her based on this post here. She said I'm not giving you that amount until we can talk and she can access my skills. Am I supposed to give a free lesson without any preparation? I didn't continue through because she has given false advertisement this post. Don't even waste your time.
hahahhaha oh man, you want a REAL laugh? Talk to these idiots. After explaining for an hour, being led to believe I was going to be hired, it turns out that what they really want are people who will give them (FOR FREE) what they don't know how to get (or do) on their own. Don't take my word for it, waste your own time and effort. Their marketing effort, if you could call it that, extends to a little town (I think) called Marek, Canada. Like most of these broken down, going-nowhere schools, they want to blame the teachers. What's worse, you're supposed to give up your time and money so they can get the education in marketing they never had or will have. They "claim" to have students in Canada and China but based on my conversation with "Ruby," I'd be shocked if they have any students since she says that can't hold any of them for any length of time. Here is her direct quote:
"We don't have big size of classes, like what I mentioned, our classes mostly are one on one, public speaking class, depends how attractive our programs, can attract how many students, u know, Canada is huge different between China, Marek is small also population of Vancouver is a little compared with any cities in China."
OK.....I think this explains what we're up against as teachers dealing with schools of THIS type.
I recently contacted them and they offered 15 Canadian dollars/hr (that’s about $11.50 usd) for 1-1 *and* group classes. You also have to teach the first 30-minute class free for new students. They’re more like an after school tutoring service, with most of their students located in Canada.
