• I am working with Egg School and it is accurate that they don't have a lot of students. It is also not really possible to earn anything near 26 an hour right now. 17-20 is more accurate and students can cancel anytime up to the last minute before a lesson. The lesson material is also frustrating because it doesn't really cover lexical sets or any grammar points. The lessons are mostly question/answer about the company's videos. The best way I can explain it is that Egg School is more looking for a kind of actor than they are looking for teachers. Teachers must act out everything and change voices and make sound effects, and the teachers aren't allowed to tell the students to repeat anything. Feedback is still expected to be comprehensive. If being a very high energy Jim Carrey or Dora styled tutor/actor is your thing and you have a lot of props, then Egg is for you. Some tutors might like it. I don't and I probably won't stay.

• I was one of the first to be hired. At the start, they assigned students to the teachers to give all the teachers equal opportunity. The last couple weeks my bookings became less and less and then none at all. HR is very responsive to questions/concerns you have. I'm now on the search for a new company.

• I also had the same experience with this company. I too have years of experience and got fobbed off with a "Dear applicant" letter a couple of weeks after applying. Seems to be a pattern.

• As of the beginning of April they're no longer hiring. Apparently when more students sign up they'll open up hiring again.

• Started the application process - what referral code should be given? If they want to find quality teachers don't boost about the quick and simple three step process when you block them in step1.

• Website doesn't seem to be working. after I finish step 1 in the application process and hit 'submit application' it just takes me to a blank page then returns me back to step 1 after a minute or so.

  • Same here. I sent an email concerning this issue and they replied with the same application link. I got fed up and didn’t bother to try any longer

• From what I have seen so far, this is "another one" to avoid like the plague. As with most of these schools, they want all your information and then, after 2 weeks or more, send you the "Dear Applicant" letter. They appear to be run by kids (probably the first job for many of them). I have decades of teaching experience, including online. Go figure! Proceed at the risk of wasting your time and effort.

  • Their website was launched on March 8, so how come you' ve already managed to wait for rejection for 2 weeks or more? I think that this is a spam message.
