I have now been with Carrot Global for 16 months and counting and I have to say that after my experience was say ABC before this it has been wonderful. Communication is easy and the teaching is great. The curriculum varies from basic phonics with her junior students to advanced business English including TOEIC and OPIC courses. The pay is fair in my opinion and it is always deposit it on time and accurately. I found the on boarding to be incredibly easy it started with a simple interview where I found out if I would be hired or not, and then a few hours of training and some practice and I was on my way. I was fully booked within two weeks of being hired and it has remain that way. I truly feel that if you were a good teacher and give your all then you will be booked. I also recruit for them and have no qualms about backing them as a company since I work for them as well. If you need any help or are interested in applying please contact me at mistie_maul@hotmail.com
This comapny is not good to work for. The pay is extremely low. They only gave me a 25 cent raise. And they will find any excuse not to give another raise. It's really sad how they devalue teachers and what they contribute to their company. I will be looking for better companies to work for.
Did you find a better paying esl company?
They are refusing to pay me my wages owed. I have $260 they owe me. They are violating wage laws and say they have the right not to pay me as I had to quit without notice which is against my states labor laws. I work in an at will state. I wonder if they ever planned on paying me.
Do they document the hours that you work or do they depend on your documentation?
Hi Tara, I recently filed a petition with the Korean Labor Department to get my full wages and benefits from Carrot Global English. If you want to get paid for the work you did, you can also file a petition with the Korean Labor Department. The case worker’s name from the Korean Labor Department who is working on my case is Ms. Lee. Her phone number is 054-271-6754. 054 is the area code for the city of Pohang. So, you’ll have to enter the number 011-82+area code minus ‘0’ number if you’re calling from the States. If you have any questions, please leave me a reply. Good luck, and I hope you get your full paid.
Cobalt,
what has the korean Labor dept done for you?
I have been working for Carrot Global for almost a year now and I have ZERO complaints. I'm not quite sure why it says here that they have a bad reputation. They have been very professional and understanding. They pay American dollars and it all depends on how well you perform in the demo classes, which is you get hired you get paid for. They do require that you let them know when you are ready to teach, every day, but it does not mean you have to sit in front of the computer and wait. I wake up, log in and send my boss a message saying all is good. Then I make coffee and stuff. Also, a BA is not required. It is great if you have one but you can still get the job without it. Every 6 months you get a 50 cent raise and if you do well, performing in the top best teachers, they give you an amazon gift card. They also give you amazon gift cards on your birthday. I would honestly highly recommend working for them. I have been teaching for over 5 years and I have worked with Chinese kids and adults. And this is the best company I have worked for. When I taught for a Chinese company my schedule was never full. With Carrot global I have to ask them to include little breaks in my schedule, otherwise I am working 6 hours straight with no break. They have a ton of students and they are currently hiring since they have thousands of students coming in. If you want to apply and need help in the process then email me at escatelalonso7@gmail.com and I'd be happy to help.
I might be applying for Carrot English, so I need some information before I apply. First, what platform are they using? Is it Skype, Zoom, Webex, or something proprietary. I have one other client and some private students, something I am allowed with a F5 visa, so I need to know about their honesty and flexibility.
Despite their sketchy reputation here, they have advertised on Dave's Cafe so I emailed them. Now the rate is $13 per hour and the US gets American money and Cdns get Canadian money which is just above minimum pay. if UR a waitress U make much more not to mention U must have a BA, TESOL preferred with a computer and high speed internet and headphones.I'll stick to waiting tables, better money and no early or really late hours. What R they thinking?
They are very dishonest. I asked them a question on their facebook page about the rate and they told me it is $14/h, I asked for more clarifications whether it is in US or Canadian Currency and they said it is a US currency. I applied and they offered me $14/h in Canadian currency. They told me in the interview they have bookings but when I started I ended up with 1to 2 lessons per week. They require from teachers to login ahead of time I think 15mn before the start of the class and it is unpaid time. If there is any tech issue, teachers are required to complete the report and they don't get paid for. Very deceptive company.
